ABOUT Matar kandha poha RECIPE

Poha is a traditional breakfast recipe in the parts of North Karnataka, Maharadhtra and parts of Madya Pradesh. It is healthy n light recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1cup thick poha
  2. 1/4 cup blanched matar
  3. 1tbs ground nuts
  4. 1tbs fried chana/ phutana
  5. 1/4 tsp jeera
  6. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  7. 1onion
  8. 2-3 green chillies
  9. 8-10 curry leaves
  10. 2tbs oil
  11. Salt to taste
  12. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1/4 tsp sugar
  14. 1lemon juice

Instructions

  1. First wash the poha 2-3 times
  2. Then soak it into water
  3. Chopped onion, green chillies n keep aside
  4. Blanch matar in the water
  5. Drain the water n keep aside
  6. Check the poha, if its soaked properly drain out water n keep aside
  7. In a kadai heat the oil
  8. Add ground nuts let it fry
  9. Then add fried chana n saute
  10. Now add mustard seeds n jeera, let it crackle
  11. Add curry leaves
  12. Now add finally chopped onion n saute till pink colour
  13. Add chopped green chillies
  14. Add blanched matar/peas
  15. Now add turmeric n salt, n sugar
  16. Add half lemon juice n mix
  17. Now add poha n mix well
  18. Finally check the seasoning and add remaining lemon juice
  19. Serve with mixture
