ABOUT kanda poha RECIPE

Light and healthy poha when served with raw onions and namkeen, not only brings taste to the tongue but a satiety to your heart too.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 1/2 cup poha
  2. 1 medium potato
  3. 1 medium onion
  4. 1/4 cup peas
  5. 1-2 green chillies
  6. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  7. salt, to taste
  8. 1 tbsp oil
  9. 1/2 tsp black mustard seeds
  10. 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  11. chopped onions, for garnish
  12. namkeen, to serve


  1. Wash the poha in a sieve and keep aside to drain water.
  2. In a wok, heat up oil and add mustard seeds.
  3. As they splutter, add chopped onion and potato and peas.
  4. Add little salt and sauté for 1-2 mins and then cover and cook till potatoes and peas turn soft.
  5. Add chopped green chillies, salt and turmeric powder and mix well.
  6. Add poha and mix well.
  7. Switch off the gas,add chopped coriander and cover for a min.
  8. Serve hot with chopped onions and namkeen.
