ABOUT Motorsuntir Kochuri RECIPE

Motorsuntir kochuri is a traditional deep fried flat bread stuffed with green peas.kochuri means stuffed puri... In my childhood memory In winter special Sunday breakfast means motorsuntir kachuri , with sukno Alu chchori or dom....In bengal plain kachuri and alur torkari you can easily get in any sweet shop or samosa/singara shop....but motorsuntir kochuri you have to make it at home ..

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For green peas stuffing:---
  2. Motorsunti or Fresh green peas- 2 cups
  3. Green chili - 1 /2
  4. ginger- 1/2 inch stick
  5. cumin powder- 1 1/2 tsp
  6. Garam masala- 1 tsp
  7. salt as required
  8. sugar - 2 tsp or as per your taste
  9. For Dough:---
  10. atta- 1 cup
  11. maida - 1 cup
  12. salt - 1 tsp
  13. oil - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash fresh green peas then drain water..
  2. Put green peas in a blender along with green chili ,ginger ,salt as required,sugar ,cumin powder and garam masala. Blend till smooth.
  3. Heat a pan .add 1 tbsp oil .now add green peas paste..and stirring for 4-5 mins or till the green peas mixture leaves side of the pan.
  4. Then take out from pan ..let it cool.
  5.   Take a big bowl ,add atta / moida , oil ,salt , sugar..knead a smooth soft daugh with help of water..cover the daugh for 20 - 30 mins
  6. Take a small portion from the daugh..roll small kochuri (puri ), put 1tbsp stuffing in centre of the puri / kochuri , bring edages together and seal it well.pinch off the excess daugh...
  7. again make a small ball, press little , flatten., dust flour , roll with care so kochuri doesn t get break leaving stuffing outside...
  8. Heat a kadai , add enough oil  for deep frying the puri...place motorsuntir kochuri carefully in hot oil..fry kochuri both sides until gets golden colour..drain oil.place it on paper towel..
