ABOUT Mysore Bonda Medu Vadas..... RECIPE

Lipsmacking mysore bondas cannot be forgotten if had once and this is my take on these delicious goodies giving them a shape of scrumptious medu vadas. The whole recipe remains the same and the only change (innovation) i made is in it's shape. I fried them shaping each as a medu vada and that's it. These gorgeous looking mysore bonda medu vadas are a treat to the tastebuds. Melt in mouth and crispy at the sametime. You will definitely love them in this new avatar.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. All purpose flour 1 1/2 cups
  2. Rice flour 1/2 cup
  3. Salt 1 tsp
  4. Ginger grated 1 tbsp
  5. Fresh coconut pieces 1 cup
  6. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4th cup
  7. Green chillies finely chopped 2
  8. Red chilli flakes 1 tsp (optional)
  9. Baking soda 1/2 tsp
  10. Sour curd 1 cup
  11. Water 1/4th cup (if needed)
  12. Cumin seeds crushed 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a bowl and make a thick lumpfree batter.
  2. Cover and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  3. Heat enough oil for frying on low heat.
  4. Wet your palms and drop them in hot oil very carefully making a dent in the centre with your thumb.
  5. Deep fry them on both the sides until golden.
  6. Keep the flame on low but see to it that the oil should be hot.
  7. Maintain a steady temperature throughout.
  8. Serve them hot with coconut coriander green chutney.
