Ingredients to make Moong dal

  • Moong dal 1 cup
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 tomato chopped
  • 2 green chilli chopped
  • 2 tsp red chilli pwr
  • 1/2 ginger tsp
  • 1 tsp turmeric pwr
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 dry red chilli
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • Fresh coriender leaves chopped for garnishing
  • Water
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida

How to make Moong dal

  1. Add water dal salt turmeric pwr in a cooker turn off the flame and lit the steam escape.
  2. After it cools down open the cooker and mix it properly. Add more water if required.
  3. Now cook on low flame for 5 min.
  4. Add two tbspn ghee in a pan and let it heat sufficiently. Add cumin seeds, dry chilli , asafoetida,green chilli ,ginger garlic paste and tomato onion paste as well and saute.
  5. Add all the spices. Saute till ghee starts separating from it . Now the masala is ready. Now add daal into this masala and garnish it with coriender leaves and serve it hot.
