Ghee has numerous health benefits. It is rich in antioxidants and helps to absorb vitamins and minerals from other foods.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Homemade Butter – 500 grams
  2. Drumstick leaves – 2 sprigs

Instructions

  1. Take butter in a heavy bottom pan and heat it up on medium heat. Now the butter will melt and the milk solids will separate from it and start to foam up.
  2. Keep on heating, now the foam will subside a little and it will bubble up. The water from the butter will start evaporating and reducing.
  3. Now the milk solid will get toasted and it will get settled at the bottom, leaving a clear gold liquid.
  4. Now add in drumstick leaves and let them crisp up. Once crisped, turn off the heat and let the ghee gets cool.
  5. Once it is cooled, strain it in a air tight container. Store at room temp.
  6. How to make butter: Boil milk in a thick vessel and let it to cool and put it in refrigerator.
  7. Next day the cream form on top. Take cream alone and put it in jar and pour 1 table spoon curd to the jar.
  8. Store daily like this and store it in freezer.
  9. Butter process: Take cream in a large mixing bowl and use a electric beater to whip. Keep whipping, first it will get thick and stiff. This is whipped cream, You can use this for frosting cakes.
  10. Now when you keep on whipping it will looks thick and kind of curdled, now add some cold water and beat..
  11. You have to keep on whipping at this stage, it will slowly get curdled. At a point it will be completely curdled and the milk solid will be separated.
  12. Use a spatula and gather the butter together to form a balls. This is homemade butter.
  13. Add this to a bowl of cold water and let it stay there for 5 to 10 mins. Now your homemade butter is done.
