Ingredients to make Khara Pori | Spiced puffed rice

  • 1 cup – puffed rice (pori)
  • 2 tbspn – peanuts
  • 2 tbspn – roasted gram
  • 2-3 full cloves of garlic with skin crushed
  • 1 sprig – curry leaves
  • 2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 tspn – turmeric powder
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • salt – for taste
  • 2 tspn oil (coconut oil is best)

How to make Khara Pori | Spiced puffed rice

  1. In a kadai, heat oil, to hot oil add crushed garlic and toss for some time. Next add peanuts and roasted bengal gram and roast it until peanuts and gram dal turns golden brown.
  2. Turn off heat and immediately add curry leaves, chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida salt and mix well. Do not let the spice powders burn.
  3. Next add puffed rice and give it a good toss.
  4. Serve this spicy Khara Pori along with tea.
  5. It’s a guilt free snack for all weight watchers. So enjoy this snack as much you want.
