Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Palak spinach leaves – 20 leaves
  2. oil for deep frying
  3. For Batter:
  4. Gram flour – 1 cup
  5. Rice flour / Arisi Mavu – 2 tblspn
  6. chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  7. turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
  8. salt – to taste
  9. hing / Kaya Podi – a pinch
  10. Cooking Soda a pinch
  11. Carom Seeds – 1/2 tsp
  12. water as needed


  1. Wash the leaves really well and dry them.
  2. Mix all the ingredients for batter in a bowl to a smooth batter.
  3. Dip each leaf in the batter and fry till golden.
  4. Drain and serve hot.
