Nothing can comfort your upset tummy better than a soft moong dal khichdi, low oil served with sweetened curd. Awesome combo for all age groups.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup rice
  2. 1/4 cup split washed moong dal
  3. 1/2 tsp oil
  4. 2 whole cardamoms
  5. 3 cups water
  6. salt,to taste


  1. Wash and soak the rice and dal together and keep aside.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add oil and green cardamoms.
  3. Add in the soaked dal and rice and add salt.
  4. Mix well as add plenty of water.
  5. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and then on low flame for 5-6 mins.
  6. Switch off the gas and let the steam go off .
  7. Serve hot with curd sweetened with sugar.
