Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Dahibara
  2. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds, turmeric powder
  3. 1/2 tsp red chili powder, cumin powder
  4. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  5. 1 tsp coriander powder
  6. salt to taste
  7. For garnishing
  8. 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  9. For Final Assembling
  10. 1 bowl of dahibara
  11. aloodum
  12. chopped onion
  13. 1 tsp oil
  14. 3 green chili
  15. 2 big garlic cloves
  16. 2 cups urad dal
  17. 1 cup curd
  18. 2 tsp black salt
  19. 12-15 curry leaves
  20. salt to taste
  21. oil for deep fry
  22. For Dumaloo
  23. 2 medium potatoes
  24. 1 medium onion
  25. 2 medium tomatoes
  26. 1 inch ginger
  27. cumin-redchili flakes and sev for garnishing


  1. For Dahibara. Soak urad dal for 2 hours. Make a smooth paste adding little little water. Now take little pour in water
  2. Beat it constantly so that the dough is fully aerated. Now put a small portion in water it will start floating means dough is ready. Now add the salt.
  3. Now in a bowl take water and wet your palm. Meanwhile heat oil,deep fry these baras till it done. In a big bowl take water and pour all these fried baras, soak at least for 5 min.
  4. In a bowl take curd. Add water,curry leaves,salt and black salt to make buttermilk. Press the soaked baras so that excess oil will be removed n pour these in the curd mixture. Now garnish with cumin-red chili flakes
  5. Procedure for Aloodum. Boil the potato,peel it n cut into cubes. Now cut onion,tomato,ginger,garlic and green chili into big pieces.
  6. Preheat the oven for 5 min, keep all the potato cubes. Bake it till golden color. Now take little oil, fry all veggies except potato on high flame for 2min.
  7. Let cool down and make a smooth paste. Heat oil, add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds start sputtering add the mixture, saute till oil seperates from mixture.
  8. Now add water and make a boil, add all the spices to the water. Add baked potatoes and boil it. Cover the lid for 5 min in low flame. Garnish with crushed kasuri methi.
  9. Finally, take a bowl of dahi bara. Pour aloo dum on this. Add onions. Garnish with sev and cumin-red chili flakes
