Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup Maize flour
  2. 2 eggs
  3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
  4. 1/3 cup chopped and toasted walnuts
  5. 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  6. 60 gms soft butter
  7. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  8. Baking soda 1/8 tsp
  9. Salt pinch


  1. Preheat oven to 180, line cake mould. Sieve dry ingredients and keep it aside
  2. Mix butter and sugar well. Add 1 egg at a time and blend using hand mixer until frothy.
  3. Now slowly add dry ingredients, cut and fold gently until well combined. Add half of chopped walnuts and use remaining for decorating. Incase you want to frost the cake then you can add all the nuts to batter and gently mix .Pour batter in prepared cake mould
  4. Bake for 18-25 minutes until done. Cool for 20-25 minutes, demould the cake and allow to cool completely. Serve As is or frost.
