Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 onion
  2. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  3. 2 tomatoes
  4. 1 tbsp oil
  5. 1 bay leaf
  6. 1 inch cinnamon stick
  7. 1/2 cup green chickpeas
  8. 2 potatoes
  9. salt, as required
  10. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  11. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  12. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  13. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  14. water, as required

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker, heat up oil and add bay leaf and cinnamon stick.
  2. Add onions and sauté till translucent.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a min.
  4. Add tomato purée and mix well.
  5. Add salt and all dry spices and mix well, sauté till tomatoes leave oil.
  6. Add green chickpeas and chopped potatoes and sauté for 3-5 mins till they are coated well with the masala.
  7. Add as much water required to make gravy .
  8. Cook for 2 whistles and then on low flame for 5 mins.
  9. Let the steam go off then serve hot with rice or parantha.
