Ingredients to make lehsuni Tuvar dal

  • 1/2 cup tuvar dal
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt, as required
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • pinch asafoetida
  • 1-2 green chillies
  • 2 tbsp chopped green garlic
  • 2 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

How to make lehsuni Tuvar dal

  1. In a pressure cooker add soaked dal, water, salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Cook for 2 whistles and then on low flame for 6-8 mins.
  3. Open the cooker after heat goes off and sieve the dal .
  4. For tadka, take a pan and heat ghee.
  5. Add mustard seeds and asafoetida.
  6. Add green garlic and chopped green chillies and sauté for a while till they change colour.
  7. Add tomato purée and red chilli powder and cook for 1-2 mins.
  8. Add this tadka over the dal and serve hot with rice.
