Ingredients to make Dehati mutton with steamed rice

  • 1 kg mutton
  • 500 gsm chopped onion
  • 4 tbsp Brown onion paste
  • 11/2 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp green chilli chopped
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp home made garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp mustard Oil
  • 2 tbsp pure ghee
  • Whole fatal masala ( 2 black cardomon 4 green cardomon 1 cinnamon stick 2 bay leaves 2 red chilli dried
  • 4 -5 medium size potato
  • mustard oil for frying potato

How to make Dehati mutton with steamed rice

  1. Heat a pressure cooker .To this Add whole spices and let it crackle
  2. Now add chopped onion and sweat for few minutes
  3. Now add all the spices dry and wet and salt except garam masala powder and cook.for few mins
  4. Now add mutton and cook for few mins
  5. Close the lid and pressure cook for 10 mins depending upon how tender mutton is
  6. Peel potato and fry in hot oil
  7. Now put Cooke mutton.in karahi..to this add fried potato and cook till water evaporates
  8. Then add ghee and garam.masala powder. And cook for another 5 mins
  9. Serve on bed of steaming hot rice and onion rings

My Tip:

Add ghee at end this enhance the taste and colour of dish
