Aaloo Methi Gosht

Ingredients to make Aaloo Methi Gosht

  • Mutton bone-in 1/2 kg
  • potatoes large cubed 2
  • fenugreek leaves chopped 1/2 cup
  • onions sliced 2
  • salt 1 tbsp
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • cumin powder 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 1/2 tbsp
  • coriander leaves chopped 1/2 cup
  • oil 4 tbsp

How to make Aaloo Methi Gosht

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and onions.
  3. Saute them for a minute on low flame.
  4. Add rest of the spices and saute it well until the onions turn translucent.
  5. Now add the washed and cleaned mutton to it.
  6. Saute it on a medium high heat for 2 minutes.
  7. Add water as required and close the lid.
  8. Pressure cook it for 7 whistles or as required.
  9. Let the pressure settle down before opening the lid.
  10. Deep fry potato cubes and add them to the cooker.
  11. Add fenugreek leaves and garam masala too.
  12. Simmer on medium flame for 10-12 minutes.
  13. Garnish with coriander.
  14. Serve hot with parathas or plain boiled rice.
