ABOUT Chole Bhature RECIPE

Reveal absolutely delicious and the most popular Punjabi dish recipe of Pindi Chole .It is made from Kabuli Chana or white chickpea which are prepared in lots of spices. This is best accompanied with Bhature.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 katori kabuli chana
  2. 1 tbsp olive oil
  3. 4-5 dry amla
  4. 1 tsp cumin seeds/ ajwain
  5. 1 bayleaf
  6. 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  7. 1 tsp corriander powder
  8. 1 chopped tomato
  9. 1 tsp salt/ as per taste.
  10. 1 tsp dry mango powder
  11. 1 tsp anardana powder
  12. 1 tsp ginger juliennes
  13. 1 tsp Green chillies chopped
  14. 1 tsp Chopped corriander
  15. 3-4 lemon wedges
  16. For Bhature :
  17. 300 gns refined flour
  18. 1/2 cup curd
  19. 1 tsp Salt
  20. 1 tbsp oil
  21. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. For Chole: Soak the kabuli chana for six hours / overnight . Drain excess water and pressure cook for half an hour, along with 5 dry amla pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a vessel . Add cumin seeds / ajwain. Now add bay leaf, half green chillies, ginger, and saute. Add tomatoes and saute.
  3. Add boiled Chole and rest of the seasoning and cook for ten minutes.
  4. Garnish with tomato slices, chopped green chillies, and ginger julians and chopped corriander.
  5. Enjoy with lemon and green pudina chutney
  6. For bhature: Make a dough of refined flour, salt, oil and curd with lukewarm water. Dough should be completely soft.
  7. Cover and let it rest for five hours to ferment.
  8. It would rise a bit. And now make balls of the dough and flatten with a rolling pin.
  9. Deep fry in hot oil. Keep pressing with laddle while frying so that they swell up properly.
  10. Serve hot with chole prepared.
