ABOUT Sweet potato chick pea curry. RECIPE

A side dish with sweet potato & chick peas. This is not an Indian dish, but all ingredients used in this are easily available here. I made it more indian adding a few of our ingredients. This goes well with plain rice & rotis.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Sweet potato pieces 1 cup
  2. Boiled chickpeas 1 cup
  3. Onion 1 chopped
  4. Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  5. coriander powder 1tsp
  6. Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder 2 pinch
  8. Garam Masala one pinch
  9. Tomato 1 big, pureed
  10. Thick Coconut Milk 1 Cup
  11. Salt
  12. oil 2 tbsp
  13. Coriander leaves few

Instructions

  1. Boil sweet potatoes in water with salt & turmeric.
  2. Heat a pan with oil. Add garlic paste .Fry. then add onion.fry well.
  3. Then add all Masalas like coriander powder, Chilli powder, garam Masala. Fry for some sec.
  4. Then add tomato puree. Cook till everything is well cooked.
  5. Then add cooked sweet potato & chick peas. Stir well.
  6. Add 1/2 cup of water. Close it. Let it simmer for some time.
  7. Then open the lid & add coconut milk. Stir well. Cook for a few more min.
  8. Remove & add coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot.
  10. Put cooked chick peas & sweet potatoes, along with all other ingredients except coriander leaves. Stir well. Cover & cook for sometime.
  11. If u want it with gravy do accordingly. Or if u want to make it thick cook till curry is thick.
  12. Add chopped coriander leaves. Stir well.
  13. Serve hot with rice or rotis.
