About Red velvet cake Recipe

This is a moist, light and delicious cake.

Red velvet cake

Ingredients to make Red velvet cake

  • all purpose flour-1 & 1/2 cups
  • Cocoa powder-2 tbsp
  • baking soda-1 tsp
  • salt-1/4 tsp
  • Milk-1 cup
  • vinegar-1 tbsp
  • oil-1/3 cup
  • Vanilla essence-1 tsp
  • Red colour-1 tbsp
  • sugar-1 cup
  • For sugar syrup:
  • sugar-2 tbsp
  • water-2 tbsp
  • For frosting:
  • Whipped cream as required
  • Sprinkles as required

How to make Red velvet cake

  1. PREPARE BUTTERMILK BY MIXING 1 TBSP VINEGAR IN 1 CUP MILK.KEEP ASIDE FOR 10 MINUTES.
  2. SIEVE 1.5 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR,2 TBSP COCOA POWDER,1 TSP BAKING SODA AND 1/4 TSP SALT.
  3. TAKE BUTTERMILK IN A MIXING BOWL.ADD 1/3 CUP OIL.
  4. ADD 1 CUP GRANULATED SUGAR,1 TSP VANILLA ESSENCE AND 1 TBSP RED COLOUR.
  5. WHISK EVERYTHING WELL TILL A HOMOGENOUS MIXTURE IS FORMED.
  6. POUR THIS IN THE DRY INGREDIENTS GRADUALLY.
  7. MAKE BATTER OF POURING CONSISTENCY.
  8. POUR THIS BATTER IN GREASED AND LINED CAKE TIN.
  9. TAP TWICE TO RELEASE AIR.KEEP TO BAKE IN PREHEATED OVEN AT 180 DEGREES C FOR 30 MINUTES.
  10. AFTER CAKE COOLS DOWN COMPLETELY CUT FROM MIDDLE INTO 2 PARTS.
  11. APPLY SUGAR SYRUP ON BOTH PARTS.
  12. PREPARE WHIPPING CREAM.
  13. APPLY CREAM ON ONE PART FIRST AND LEVEL IT.
  14. KEEP OTHER PART ON THIS.
  15. APPLY FROSTING ON THIS PART ALSO AND COMPLETE CRUMB COATING THE CAKE FROM ALL SIDES.
  16. KEEP IN FRIDGE FOR HALF AN HOUR AND THEN AGAIN APPLY CREAM AND DO FINAL FROSTING.
