  • Soaked green gram 1 cup
  • Grated coconut 1 cup
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder a pinch
  • water sufficient

  • Cooking oil 2 tsp
  • coriander seeds 3 tsp
  • urad dal 1 tsp
  • jeera 1/4 tsp
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • turmeric powder a pinch
  • methi 1/4 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  • red chilli 5-6
  • curry leaves few
  • tamarind small gooseberry sized
  • For seasoning...
  • Cooking oil 1 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • red chilli 1

How to make Traditional Red Amaranth Leaves Curry

  1. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER AND COOK 4 HOURS SOAKED 1 CUP GREEN GRAM
  2. AFTER WELL COOK, ADD WASHED, CLEANED AND CHOPPED RED AMARANTH LEAVES 2 CUP
  3. ADD TURMERIC POWDER A PINCH, SALT TO TASTE, CLOSE THE LID AND COOK
  4. HEAT 2 TSP COOKING OIL, FRY IN LOW FLAME 3 TSP CORIANDER SEEDS,
  5. ADD URAD DAL 1 TSP
  6. ADD RED CHILLI AND FRY TILL GOOD AROMA
  7. JEERA 1/4 TSP, ASAFOETIDA A PINCH
  8. METHI SEEDS 1/4 TSP, A PINCH OF TURMERIC POWDER
  9. 1/4 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS
  10. TURN OFF THE FLAME, ADD CURRY LEAVES
  11. 1 CUP GRATED COCONUT
  12. ADD FRIED MASALA
  13. ADD SMALL GOOSEBERRY SIZED TAMARIND AND ENOUGH WATER
  14. GRIND SMOOTHLY
  15. CHECK THE COOKNESS, TRANSFER THE GROUND MASALA MIXTURE
  16. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER
  17. ADD JAGGERY SMALL GOOSEBERRY SIZED
  18. STIR ONCE AND ALLOW IT TO BOIL, IN THE MEANTIME DO SEASONING
  19. TURN OFF THE FLAME, ADD CURRY LEAVES AND SEASONING, STIR AND SERVE
