About Authentic shahi matar paneer Recipe

This is a special recipe that my mother makes for us and this is a great side dish to be served with some roti or paratha.

Authentic shahi matar paneer

Ingredients to make Authentic shahi matar paneer

  • 250 gm paneer
  • onions 2
  • tomatoes 2
  • red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Whole garam masala [cardamom, cinnamon, cloves] - few
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • ginger - 1 inch
  • peas 2 cups

How to make Authentic shahi matar paneer

  1. Heat a pan with some oil. Add the chopped onions followed by the whole spices. Saute the onion until golden brown.
  2. Grind the tomatoes and coriander leaves into a paste.
  3. Add this paste to the cooking onion and mix.
  4. Now add the peas and let this masala cook for few minutes. Add salt and water for the gravy.
  5. While the masala is cooking , deep fry the paneer in another wok, in hot . strain and keep aside.
  6. Now add the fried paneer into the masla, cook for few minutes.
  7. This is ready to be served.
