Ingredients to make Moong dal Halwa

  • moong dal 1/2 cup
  • sugar 1/4 cup
  • kesar pinch
  • Cardamon powder 1/2 tsp
  • cashews for garnish

How to make Moong dal Halwa

  1. RINSE 1/2 CUP MOONG DAL AND ADD TO KADAI
  2. DRY ROAST MOONG DAL FOR 5-10 MINUTES TILL MOONG DAL CHANGES COLOUR
  3. MOONG DAL SHOULD BE REDDISH
  4. PRESSURE COOK MOONG DAL FOR 5 WHISTLES
  5. MASH DAL
  6. ADD 1/2 CUP WATER AND 1/4 CUP SUGAR. PREPARE SUGAR SYRUP
  7. ADD PINCH OF KESAR AND 1/2 TSP CARDAMON POWDER
  8. ADD MASHED DAL. MIX WELL
  9. ADD 1 TBSP GHEE. MIX WELL
  10. ADD 2 TBSP GHEE. WHEN IT TURNS THICK, TURN OFF THE FLAME
  11. HALWA SHOULDN'T STICK AND SHOULD HAVE CONSISTENCY AS SHOWN
