About Steamed Paneer Recipe

Paneer steamed with a paste of mustard and curd.

Steamed Paneer

Ingredients to make Steamed Paneer

  • Full cream paneer 200 gms
  • A mixture of black and yellow mustard paste 4 tbsp
  • curd 4 tbsp
  • Green chilli paste 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 pinch
  • salt to taste
  • mustard oil 2 tbsp
  • Slit green chillies 4 nos

How to make Steamed Paneer

  1. Cut the paneer into small pieces.
  2. Mix the mustard paste, Curd, chilli paste, turmeric powder, salt and mustard oil together till they blend well
  3. Add the paneer pieces to it marinate in the mixture for 10 to 15 minutes
  4. Pour in a stainless steel bowl and add the slit green chillies to it
  5. Take a pressure cooker and place a grid on it. Add 2 cups of water in the body of the cooker and place the bowl of marinated paneer on the grid and close the cooker
  6. Put the cooker on the gas stove and cook till 1 whistle
  7. Wait till the cooker releases the pressure and then open it
  8. Your steamed paneer is ready to be served with steaming hot rice

My Tip:

Add a spoon full of mustard oil on top of the paneer mixture if you are fond of strong mustard oil smell like me
