Onion, brinjal, and bhindi sambar

Ingredients to make Onion, brinjal, and bhindi sambar

  • Brinjal- one cup chopped long
  • bhindi- chopped long
  • onion- chopped long
  • capsicum- chopped into big pieces
  • Tur dal- 1/2 cup
  • Masoor dal- 1 /2 cup
  • Sambhar powder- 4 tsps
  • turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • salt- to taste
  • hing piece- small
  • oil- 1 tbsp
  • mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  • Urad dal- 1tsp

How to make Onion, brinjal, and bhindi sambar

  1. Take a kadayi, fry vegetables in little oil.
  2. Pour and squeeze the tamarind and add the water to the vegetables
  3. Let it boil, add Sambhar powder, turmeric powder and hing and salt
  4. Boil the dal and keep aside
  5. Once vegetables are boiled add dals and boil till its well cooked
  6. For tadka, add little oil add mustard seeds and urad dal and pour it in sambar
  7. Serve hot

My Tip:

You can add curry leaves in tadka also.
