About Tamatari Jhinga Recipe

This is a traditional style of making prawn with its shell intact.

Tamatari Jhinga

Ingredients to make Tamatari Jhinga

  • Medium sized prawn with shell, clened 500gm
  • Medium sized tomatoes pureed 3
  • onion sliced 2
  • Boiled potatoes 2
  • ginger garlic paste 1tsp
  • salt according to taste
  • turmeric pow 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1/2tsp
  • Beaten curd 2tbs
  • Green chilli sliced 2
  • mustard oil 5tbs
  • water

How to make Tamatari Jhinga

  1. Heat 2tbs oil in a kadhai.
  2. Add a little salt and turmeric to the prawns and rub.
  3. Now shallow fry them till golden brown.
  4. Add all masalas to curd and mix well.
  5. Heat the rest oil and saute onions.
  6. Add tomatoes, salt and green chilli and cook it well.
  7. Add the curd mixture and cook it further 5mins.
  8. Add friend prawns to this and mix it well till it is well coated with masalas.
  9. Add boiled potatoes pieces too.
  10. Add water and give it a boil.
  11. Serve it hot.

My Tip:

You can remove the shell and cook it the same way.
