About Liver Green Masala Recipe

Chicken Liver in a fresh coriander based gravy.

Liver Green Masala

Ingredients to make Liver Green Masala

  • 250 gms chicken liver
  • 1 onion (cut into cubes)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 1/2 cup fresh coriander
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 4-5 flakes garlic
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 tbs tamarind
  • 1 tbs coriander seeds
  • 3 tbs oil
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste

How to make Liver Green Masala

  1. Cut the chicken liver into 4 pieces. Wash, add salt and keep aside.
  2. Grind onion cubes, tomato, ginger, garlic, green chillies, cloves, cinnamon, tamarind, coriander seeds, coriander leaves to make a paste. Keep aside a little coriander leaves for garnishing.
  3. Heat oil. Add chopped onion and saute till pink. Add the ground paste and water as required to make gravy.
  4. Once gravy comes to a boil, add the chicken liver pieces, turmeric powder and mix. Add salt if required.
  5. Let it simmer for 12 - 15 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.

My Tip:

To make the gravy a little thicker, mix 1 tsp cornflour in 2 tbs water and add to the gravy after adding the liver pieces.
