ABOUT Bread Khaman RECIPE

Presenting here my unique and innovative recipe of khaman with bread. Bread is rolled in the form of pinwheels and then dipped in gram flour batter and steamed to perfection. It is delicious and healthy as it is steamed and prepared with less oil. Perfect snack for evening tea time or a get together

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 6 slices of bread
  2. 4 tablespoons imli chutney
  3. 4 tablespoons mint coriander chutney
  4. 1 teaspoon grated coconut
  5. 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  6. 1 cup besan/gram flour
  7. 2 pinch sugar
  8. 1/2 cup curd
  9. 1/2 teaspoon fruit salt
  10. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  11. For tempering
  12. 1 teaspoon white til/sesame seeds
  13. 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  14. 10 curry leaves
  15. 1 green chilli finely chopped

Instructions

  1. First take bread cut edges, then roll flat very carefully with a rolling pin.
  2. Apply green chutney and imli chutney generously.
  3. Roll each bread slice carefully and tightly into a pinwheel and cut into half and keep aside.
  4. Take a mixing bowl and mix besan, curd, salt, sugar and fruit salt and water and make a thick paste.
  5. Meanwhile boil one glass of water in a steamer.
  6. Dip each roll in the besan batter and arrange on the perforated plate in the steamer.
  7. Cover with a lid and steam for 10 minutes on high flame turning them upside down after 5 minutes in between.
  8. For tempering Heat oil in a tadka pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, sesame seeds, green chilli.
  9. Arrange bread dhokla on a platter, pour this tempering on dhokla, garnish with coconut and coriander leaves
  10. Serve hot with green mint coriander chutney.
