Palak methi saag

Ingredients to make Palak methi saag

  • 1 big onion
  • 2 big tomatoes
  • 2 green chilli
  • 10 garlic cloves
  • Small piece ginger
  • 1bunch palak leaves
  • Half bunch methi leaves
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • Half tsp jeera
  • Pinch of hing
  • 1 laung
  • 4tbsp ghee
  • salt to taste
  • 1tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Half tsp red chilli powder
  • Half tsp garam masala

How to make Palak methi saag

  1. First clean palak and methi leaves. Wash and keep aside.
  2. Then roughly chop onion, tomato,green chilli, ginger, garlic.
  3. Take pressure cooker and add all the above ingredients. Add little water if needed.
  4. Close the lid and pressure cook for 1 whistle. Switch off the flame.
  5. Let the pressure release. Then open and let it cool completely.
  6. Add cream and grind it.Keep aside.
  7. Take an open pan and put ghee. Heat it.
  8. Add jeera,hing and laung. Let it crackle.
  9. Then add the above grinded paste and mix well.
  10. Add all the dry spice powders and salt. Mix well .
  11. Cover and keep it for 10 mins on low flame.
  12. Serve hot with rice or roti.
