ABOUT Chunda RECIPE

Traditional Gujarati pickle made using sugar instead of jaggery.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 gms raw mangoes (preferably Totapuri mangoes)
  2. 750 gms sugar
  3. 1/2 tbs chilly powder
  4. 1 tbs vinegar
  5. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate the raw mangoes and apply salt. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a non stick pan and add the raw mangoes and sugar. Cook on low flame stirring continuously till sugar melts.
  3. Add chilly powder and cook on low flame for about 10 minutes till raw mangoes are cooked. Lastly, add the vinegar and stir.
  4. Cool and store in airtight bottles.
