ABOUT Amla Chunda RECIPE

It is a spicy , tangy and sweet achar , similar to our favourite Aam ka chunda

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 4 cups grated Amla
  2. 3 1/2 cups sugar
  3. 1 tbsp redchilly powder
  4. 1/4 tsp haldi
  5. 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Grate amla in a vessel
  2. Put grated amla and sugar in a glass bottle
  3. Mix with a spoon until the sugar dissolves completely
  4. Then strain it in a bowl until all the liquid comes out
  5. Then in a kadai put the sugar liquid and place it on a gas and cook on low heat
  6. Put some lime juice to clean the sugar and to get rid from crystalisation
  7. Let it boil , if any scum comes on top then remove it
  8. Then add amla to the liquid and add haldi and salt
  9. Cook on low heat until 1 1/2 string consistency
  10. When done , switch off the gas and add red chilly powder
  11. Mix well and let it cool.down completely
  12. Take out in a serving bowl
  13. Let it cool completely. You can store this for the whole year
