Dhaniya Chicken

Ingredients to make Dhaniya Chicken

  • chicken - 500 gms
  • coriander leaves - 3 cups
  • curd - 1 cup
  • green chillies - 3-4
  • ginger garlic paste - 2 teaspoon
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • sauf/fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • cloves - 2
  • Green cardamom - 2

How to make Dhaniya Chicken

  1. Grind coriander leaves and green chillies together. Make a paste. The end result will be according to that.
  2. Now mix chicken, coriander-chilli paste , curd, ginger, garlic, lemon and salt. Let it marinade for at least 1 hour.
  3. I have pounded both sauf and cardomom a little.
  4. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in heavy bottom kadai. Add sauf, cardamom, cloves. Let it cook till nice aroma arises.
  5. Now add the marinated chicken. Cook this on medium flame till thick gravy forms. This takes almost 15 mins. Check salt. Add more if required.
  6. Cover and let it rest for 30 mins before serving. Enjoy!

My Tip:

For the preparation I have used the upper part for the coriander leaves that we get in market. Just grab the upper half of the whole bunch (mostly leaves) and twist it. Mine was fresh so it was clean.
