Ingredients to make English Pound Cake

  • 1 and half cup sifted cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs Room Temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • Vanilla extract 1 and half Teaspoons
  • 3 Tablespoons milk Room Temperature
  • 1/2 cup + 1/3 cup unsalted butter room temperature

How to make English Pound Cake

  1. Preheat the oven for 350 degrees for 10 minutes In a bowl add sifted flour, baking powder and salt together and mix it well.
  2. Beat eggs till it becomes fluffy and add sugar, butter, milk, and vanilla extract and mix it well again.
  3. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Grease the cake pan and keep parchment paper at the bottom of the pan.
  5. Keep the cake pan for baking in the middle tray.
  6. Bake the cake for approximately 40 to 50 minutes.
  7. When the golden crust comes remove from the oven.
  8. Let it cool down and then cut into pieces.

My Tip:

The Pound Cake can be covered and stored for several days at room temperature, for one week when refrigerated.
