About Arabic Hummus Recipe

Hummus is a dip or spread made using mashed chickpeas , tahini , lime juice and other few ingredients . Arabic dishes go incomplete without hummus . Hummus is a very popular , regular dip among Arabs. Hummus goes well with kuboos /Arabic bread and broasted chicken .

Arabic Hummus

Ingredients to make Arabic Hummus

  • Overnight soaked and boiled chickpeas 1 cup
  • garlic cloves 2
  • lemon juice 1/2 tablespoons
  • Tahini ( sesame paste ) 2 tablespoons
  • pepper flakes 1/4 tablespoon
  • salt as required .
  • Sumac for garnishing
  • olive oil 3 tablespoons
  • parsley freshly chopped ( optional ) .
  • Fresh goat cheese ( optional ) for topping

How to make Arabic Hummus

  1. Take one cup finely boiled chickpeas without water .
  2. In a food processor , add the boiled chickpeas , pepper flakes and mulch well .
  3. Add finely crushed garlic and salt .
  4. Then add Tahini and mix well .
  5. Never add oil to this mixture while preparing .
  6. Once this smooth paste is prepared .
  7. Transfer the paste to a bowl or plate .
  8. Add lemon juice to this paste .
  9. Just before serving , add sumac , parsley and fresh goat cheese and spread over the hummus using a spoon .
  10. Drizzle olive oil on top of this delicious Arabic hummus to add more flavour and taste .
  11. A healthy treat to relish .

My Tip:

Make sure you don’t use any water while grinding . The texture will turn into a runny juice .
