About Murg pasanda Recipe

This is a delicious chicken curry recipe, from the mughlai cuisine, which can be served with pulao, rice or even with naan or roti.

Murg pasanda

Ingredients to make Murg pasanda

  • chicken - 200 gm
  • curd - 1/2 cup
  • poppy seeds - 2 tbsp
  • garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 1/4 th cup
  • kashmiri red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • fried onion - 1/2 cup
  • red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • ghee/refined oil
  • salt
  • Whole garam masala [clove,cardamom, cinnamon]

How to make Murg pasanda

  1. In a mixing bow, marinate the chicken with curd, poppy seeds, milk, garam masala powder, fried onion, ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds. whole garam masala, chilly powders, little ghee and salt. Keep this aside for 5-6 hours.
  2. Then heat a pan with some oil, add the marinated chicken, cover the lid and cook the chicken until done.
  3. Check the chicken if it is done, cook more if required. add little water for gravy, bring it upto boil, and serve hot.
