About Methi Khichdi Recipe

This methi khichidi is the most popular in north side it is specially cooked in the winter season for the morning breakfast.

Methi Khichdi

Ingredients to make Methi Khichdi

  • methi 1 1/2 cup soaked for 12 hours
  • 3 cup basmati rice
  • 2 big potatoes cut into 8 pieces
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • salt to taste
  • oil 1/2 cup

How to make Methi Khichdi

  1. Remove excess water in a bowl.
  2. Heat oil in the pressure cooker.
  3. Add in the soaked methi and fry till the methi color changes.
  4. Add green chillies, potatoes, salt and saute it for 2 minutes on a low flame.
  5. Add rice and little water to cook it on 3 whistle.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney.

My Tip:

You can boil methi for the softness.
