Rose sherbet

Ingredients to make Rose sherbet

  • 75 grams local rose petals
  • 1 litre water
  • 750 grams sugar
  • 1/2 tsp citric acid
  • 1/2 tsp rose extract
  • Pinch red colour ( optional)

How to make Rose sherbet

  1. Clean petals and soak in 1 litre water overnight.
  2. Crush, strain and pour into a pot and over meduium flame, allow to boil.
  3. Add sugar and stir continuously until it thickens slightly and is sticky to the touch.
  4. Now turn off flame and allow to cool by covering it with a net.
  5. Once cool add remaining ingredients and stir.
  6. Now strain and fill into a glass bottle.
  7. Makes 1 litre.
  8. Serve 2 tbsp in a glass and top with ice cubes and a dash of lemon. Enjoy!
