Ingredients to make Tarka chana dal

  • Soaked chana dal - 250 gm/2 cups
  • water - 3 Cups
  • For Tadka
  • onions - 3
  • tomatoes- 2
  • tej patta-2
  • cumin seeds - 1tspn
  • Red chillies -2 to 3
  • haldi - 1 tspn
  • Garam masla -1/2 tspn
  • garlic - 4 leaves
  • ginger - 1/2 tspn
  • Black pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
  • Green cardamoms- 2
  • Badi elaichi - 1

How to make Tarka chana dal

  1. TRANSFER THE SOAKED CHANA DAL IN PRESSURE COOKER, ADD WATER, HALDI.
  2. ADD SALT
  3. COOK THE DAL TILL 3 WHISTLES.
  4. IN A PAN, HEAT OIL, ADD CUMIN, TEJPATTA AND SAUTE ONIONS.
  5. WHEN ITS TRANSLUCENT, ADD CHOPPED TOMATOES AND COOK. ADD THE SPICES.
  6. NOW ADD THE COOKED CHANA DAL AND MIX.
  7. LET IT COOK FOR 5 MIN.
