Pichupotta Nattukozhi Varuval

Ingredients to make Pichupotta Nattukozhi Varuval

  • chicken leg and breast 500 gms
  • onions 2
  • green chillies 2
  • curry leaves few
  • red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  • coriander powder 1 tablespoon
  • turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  • Curry masala powder 1 teaspoon
  • salt accordingly
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper 1 tablespoon
  • Gingelly oil 30 ml
  • coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Pichupotta Nattukozhi Varuval

  1. The chicken breast with wings and legs should be bought as whole, without cutting. Wash them well and place in a pressure cooker
  2. Add 1 tablespoon oil,all the masala powders,salt , ginger garlic paste and saute for few minutes and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles.
  3. Shred the chicken piece with hand. This is called pichu podarathu in tamil. Hence the recipe name
  4. Slice onions, green chillies and Curry leaves
  5. In a kadai heat the remaining oil and add mustardseeds.once it splutters add sliced onions, green chillies and Curry leaves.
  6. Now add the shredded chicken and saute gently
  7. After 3 minutes add freshly ground black pepper powder.
  8. Saute well and garnish with coriander leaves.

My Tip:

If you want it tangy ,you can add a tomato
