About Aloo Chochhori Recipe

A simple Bengali potato curry which is commonly paired up with Bengali Luchis .

Aloo Chochhori

Ingredients to make Aloo Chochhori

  • potatoes Big 2 de skinned and diced .
  • tomato big 1 finely chopped
  • Dry chillies 2
  • green chillies 2
  • turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon
  • red chilli Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Panch phoron 1.5 teaspoon
  • salt to taste .
  • water 1/4 cup
  • mustard oil 2 tablespoons

How to make Aloo Chochhori

  1. In a wok , heat oil .
  2. Crackle Panch phoron .
  3. Add dry chillies and green chillies .
  4. Add the diced potatoes . Fry them in oil for 3 minutes .
  5. Add tomatoes .
  6. Sauté till soft .
  7. Add turmeric powder .
  8. Add chilli powder .
  9. Add salt .
  10. Add asafoetida.
  11. Add water and cover the wok .
  12. Cook potatoes till tender .
  13. Cook to gravy consistency .
  14. Aloo Chochhori is ready .
