Masala chana

Ingredients to make Masala chana

  • White chana (chick peas), soaked for 1 hour in very hot water
  • Soda...1 pinch
  • pomegranate and coriander and cumin seeds...4 tea spoon each
  • 1/4 piece nut meg
  • 4 flowers jawitri
  • 2 tea sooon garam masala
  • 1 tea spoon mango powder
  • Salt and red chilly powder to taste
  • ginger 1 inch piece
  • Desi ghee as requirer
  • 2 or 3 whole red chilly dry one
  • Fried potato chunks, paneer, onions etc. For garnish only

How to make Masala chana

  1. Dry roast pomegranate, coriander and cumin seeds on tawa preferably either together or all separate. Then grind these with jawitri and jay phal and mix garam masala in this. Mix mango powder and red chilly powder and salt in the masala
  2. Boil chickpeas in a cooker with soda, till tender.
  3. Take these boiled chickpeas in a bowl, separate water . Mix masala in these chickpeas , leaving little for tadka
  4. In a tadka pan, take Desi ghee, heat it and put leftovers masala and pour this in masala wale chick peas
  5. Now heat the entire mixed cickpeas in a woke and add friend.potatoes and paneer pieces , green or red chillies
  6. Serve
