About Aloo matar Recipe

Aloo matar sabji is my most favorite my mom usually made during winter season. Missing those days and maa k pyar.. :pensive: i m sure most of you know about aloo matar. Its very simple to make, goes well with chapati, paratha or even with rice..

Aloo matar

Ingredients to make Aloo matar

  • 2 medium sized potatoes
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 2 GREEN chilli CHOPPED
  • 1 tsp gngr-grlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2, 3 spoon mustard oil
  • salt to taste
  • chopped green coriander

How to make Aloo matar

  1. Take potatoes, peel & chopped into cubes.
  2. Wash chopped potatoes, peas and keep a side.
  3. Heat mustard oil in a pan add cumin seeds.
  4. Add chopped onion ,saute till translucent.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute till row aroma goes off.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilli.
  7. Add powder spices turmeric( turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam Masala)
  8. Add 2 spoon water, Salute well & cook till the oil separates.
  9. Now add chopped potatoes, peas. And Stir well.
  10. Add (250ml) enough water and salt, mix well.
  11. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes on low flame..
  12. Check potato, if cooked properly ,switch off the flame.
  13. Garnish with chopped coriander & serve hot chapati or rice..
