Crispy Honey Chilli Chana

Ingredients to make Crispy Honey Chilli Chana

  • 1 bowl chana
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 1 capsicum
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp Schezwan sauce or red chilli sauce
  • Half tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp herbs
  • Half tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 cup cornflower
  • oil for frying
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 glass water

How to make Crispy Honey Chilli Chana

  1. TAKE 2 CUPS BOILED CHICKPEAS, ADD 4 TBSP CORNFLOUR
  2. SPRINKLE 2 TBSP WATER ON TOP, MIX WELL
  3. ADD 5 TBSP CORNFLOUR AGAIN, MIX, COVER & SET ASIDE FOR 15 MINS
  4. DEEP FRY IN HOT OIL TILL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP, SET ASIDE
  5. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL, ADD 2 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES, 1 ONION, SAUTE TILL TRANSLUCENT
  6. ADD 1 TBSP GINGER-GARLIC PASTE
  7. ADD 1 CAPSICUM, SAUTE TILL SOFT
  8. ADD 1/2 TSP PEPPER POWDER, SALT TO TASTE
  9. ADD 1 TSP SOYA SAUCE, 1 TBSP WHITE VINEGAR, 3 TBSP SCHEZWAN / RED CHILLI SAUCE
  10. ADD 1 TBSP TOMATO SAUCE
  11. ADD 1 TSP MIXED HERBS, 1/2 TSP CHILLI FLAKES
  12. ADD 1/2 CUP WATER, BRING IT TO A BOIL
  13. MIX 1 TSP EACH OF CORNFLOUR & WATER INTO A SMOOTH SLURRY, ADD TO THE PAN
  14. ADD THE CHICKPEAS, COVER & COOK FOR 2-3 MINS
  15. ADD 1 TSP HONEY, MIX, TAKE OFF HEAT, SERVE HOT
