About Fish Fry Kerala Style Recipe

Spicy fish shallow fried in coconut oil. Goes best with Kerala red rice and curries.

Fish Fry Kerala Style

Ingredients to make Fish Fry Kerala Style

  • Tilapia fillets -3
  • For marinating:
  • ginger- a small piece
  • garlic- 2 flakes
  • Shallot/ small onion - 1
  • Green chili -1
  • Chili powder- 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder-1/3 tsp
  • curry leaves 2 sprigs- 1 for grinding 1 for frying with fish
  • vinegar-1 tsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Fish Fry Kerala Style

  1. Wash and pat dry the tilapia fillets.
  2. Grind the spices along with the curry leaves, coarsely.
  3. Pour the vinegar and add all the spices
  4. Marinate the fish, cover and keep it aside for 1/2 hr
  5. Heat 3-4 tsps of coconut oil
  6. Shallow fry the fish on both sides evenly
  7. Remove and serve hot along with rice
