ABOUT Ilish Paturi RECIPE

It requires very few ingredients, a delicious curry made with Hilsa fish, with mustard paste, steamed and serve with just some hot rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ilish fish 4 pieces
  2. White mustard 1 tablespoon
  3. Black mustard 1 tablespoon
  4. Poppy seeds 2 tablespoon
  5. Cashew nut 2 tablespoon
  6. Green chillies slit 3-4
  7. Banana leaves cut into 4 pieces
  8. Mustard oil 2 tablespoon
  9. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Make a smooth paste of black mustard, white mustard, poppy seeds, cashew nut & green chillies
  2. Spread the paste across the fish pieces add mustard oil marinate for 15 minutes
  3. Soften banana leaves over low flame this make it easy to fold the leaves
  4. Wrap each fish in a banana leaf wrap a cotton thread around it
  5. Heat water in a steamer & steam the fish for 20 minutes
