Chole Aloo Pie

Ingredients to make Chole Aloo Pie

  • Chole 1 cup
  • oil 1 tbsp
  • ginger- Garlic paste 2 tsp
  • tomato puree 1/2 cup
  • onion paste 1/2 cup
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Aamchur powder 1 tsp
  • Chole masala 1/2 tsp
  • Boiled potatoes 6 large sized
  • pepper powder to taste
  • Milk 1 tbsp
  • butter 1 tsp
  • Mozzarella cheese 1 cup
  • tomato ketchup to serve

How to make Chole Aloo Pie

  1. Soak the chole for 5 hours, then boil them till they are done.
  2. To prepare the chole, take oil in a pan and add the ginger-garlic paste and saute it.
  3. Then add onion paste and continue to saute. Add the tomato puree, red chilli powder, turmeric, salt, aamchur and chole masala. Stir it well.
  4. Then add the boiled chole and a little water. Mix it well together. Once the chole is ready, keep it aside.
  5. Boil the potatoes and mash them well to form a paste. Add salt, pepper, butter and milk to the paste.
  6. In a greased baking dish, first make a layer of the chole. Then make another layer of the potato paste. Now sprinkle cheese on it.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees till the cheese melts.
  8. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup.

My Tip:

Instead of chole you can use rajma too.
