ABOUT Garlicky spinach dal RECIPE

This dal is my mom's special and healthy recipe for the kids who doesn't want to eat green spinach

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 bowl tuver dal
  2. 1 bunch spinach washed and chopped
  3. Water
  4. Salt as per taste
  5. Turmeric powder ½ spoon
  6. 1 tomato finely chopped
  7. 1 big onion finely chopped
  8. 5 cloves of garlic peeled and smashed
  9. Cumin ¼ spoon
  10. Garam masala 1 spoon
  11. Red chilli powder ¼ spoon
  12. Whole dried red chilly 2
  13. 1 bay leave
  14. Unclarified butter 2 spoon

Instructions

  1. Soak dal in water for 15 minutes
  2. In a cooker add dal,salt, turmeric powder and cbopped spinach and 2 cup water
  3. Cover the lid
  4. Cook for two whistles
  5. When dal is ready mash with spoon
  6. In a wok heat unclarified Butter
  7. Add cumin,bay leaf and dried red chilly
  8. Add garlic and onion
  9. Saute for 5 minutes and add tomato
  10. Saute till tomatoes are soft
  11. Add garam masala and chilly powder
  12. Add cooked dal
  13. Mix well and boil for 2 minutes
  14. Serve hot dal with plain chapati
