ABOUT Bengali Traditional Doodh Puli RECIPE

It's a traditional bengali festive food. In winter the festival called "Pouse Parvan " and the Pouse Sankranti - the festival of different types of pithe puli made of rice flour, patali gud ,dates or plum jaggeri ,coconut, sesame and many more things. Doodh puli is a delicious and very popular one among Bengalies.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice flour 1 & 1/2 cup
  2. Shredded coconut 3/4 cup
  3. Jaggeri (dates or plum jaggeri or patali) about 2 cups
  4. Sugar (optional) depends on your taste
  5. Cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Milk fullcream 1/2 litre

Instructions

  1. HEAT KADAI ADD SHREDDED COCONUT
  2. ADD JAGGERY
  3. STIR
  4. ADD SUGAR AS PER YOUR TASTE
  5. ADD CARDAMOM POWDER
  6. STIR CONTINUOUSLY
  7. STUFFING IS PREPARED
  8. HEAT WATER
  9. TAKE RICE FLOUR ADD PINCH OF SALT
  10. MIX
  11. ADD WARM WATER
  12. MIX WELL
  13. KNEED MAKE THE DOUGH
  14. TAKE SMALL PORTION POUR COCONUT STUFFING
  15. CLOSE THE SIDES
  16. BOIL MILK
  17. STIR IT CONTINUOUSLY TILL VOLUME OF MILK DECREASES UP TO SOME EXTENT
  18. ADD LITTLE SUGAR (IT'S OPTIONAL)
  19. ADD PATALI OR DATES OR PLUM JAGGERI
  20. STIR AND MIX PROPERLY
  21. ADD CARDAMOM POWDER
  22. ADD THE PULIES AND COOK FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES
  23. WELL COOKED DOODH PULI IS READY
