Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Pomfret fish...10 to 12
  2. Onion...3
  3. Garlic cloves...10
  4. Kashmiri red chilli_ginger paste...5tspn
  5. Turmeric powder...2tspn
  6. Red chilli powder...2tspn
  7. Cumin powder...1tspn
  8. Coriander powder...1tspn
  9. Coriander leaves
  10. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL, ADD 6-8 CHOPPED GARLIC CLOVES, 2 CHOPPED ONIONS, SAUTE FOR 3-4 MINS
  2. ALLOW IT TO COOL, ADD TO A MIXER JAR, BLEND TILL SMOOTH
  3. ADD 2 TSP READY KASHMIRI RED CHILLI-GINGER PASTE, 1 TSP CORIANDER POWDER TO THE GROUND PASTE
  4. ADD 1 TSP EACH OF RED CHILLI, CUMIN & TURMERIC POWDER, MIX
  5. TAKE 10-12 WASHED & CLEANED POMFRETS, ADD SALT & 1 TBSP LEMON JUICE
  6. APPLY THE MASALA PASTE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FISH
  7. SET ASIDE TO MARINATE FOR 1 HOUR
  8. REMOVE & RESERVE THE MARINADE, SHALLOW FRY THE FISH ON A TAVA UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ON BOTH SIDES
  9. SHALLOW FRY 2 SLICED ONIONS IN HOT OIL, ADD 1 SLICED TOMATO, SAUTE UNTIL SOFT, SET ASIDE
  10. FRY 3 GREEN CHILLIES, ADD THE RESERVED MARINADE, SAUTE
  11. APPLY A FEW DROPS OF WATER, SAUTE
  12. ADD THE FRIED FISH PIECES
  13. GARNISH WITH THE FRIED ONION & TOMATO RINGS, 2 TBSP CHOPPED FRESH CORIANDER, SERVE HOT
