ABOUT CHICKEN DONUT RECIPE

A savoury donut recipe made using chicken, a rich source of protein This dis makes a great evening snack or a party starter

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 250 grams boneless chicken cubes, wash & drain excess water
  2. 1 large potato, boiled & grated
  3. 1 medium onion roughly chopped
  4. 2 green chillies
  5. 6-8 garlic cloves
  6. Handful of green coriander, washed well.
  7. 1 cube processed cheese grated
  8. 2 tablespoons corn flour
  9. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  10. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  11. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  12. 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  13. 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  14. Salt as per taste
  15. 1 egg for coating
  16. 1 cup bread crumbs for coating
  17. Oil for frying
  18. Green chutney, tomato chilli sauce & mayonnaise for serving

Instructions

  1. INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING CHICKEN DONUTS
  2. IN A BLENDER JAR, ADD BONELESS CHICKEN CUBES
  3. 2 GREEN CHILLIES & 6-8 GARLIC CLOVES
  4. HANDFUL FOR FRESH CORIANDER
  5. 1 MEDIUM SIZE ONION ROUGHLY CHOPPED
  6. BLEND THIS UNTIL IT TURNS INTO A SMOOTH PASTE
  7. KEEP THE PASTE DRY AS POSSIBLE
  8. REMOVE IN A MIXING BOWL & ADD BOILED POTATO
  9. 1 CUBE GRATED PROCESSED CHEESE
  10. 1 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER
  11. 1/2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
  12. 1 TSP CORIANDER POWDER
  13. 1 TSP CUMIN POWDER
  14. 1 TSP OREGANO
  15. 1/2 TSP SALT
  16. 2 TBSP CORN FLOUR
  17. MIX EVERYTHING WELL
  18. BREAK THE EGG IN A BOWL, ADD PINCH OF SALT & WHISK WELL
  19. GREASE YOUR PALM WITH LITTLE OIL. TAKE 1 TBSP OF THE PREPARED CHICKEN PASTE
  20. FLATTEN INTO A ROUND DISC(1CM THICK). WITH HELP OF THUMB/FINGER, MAKE A HOLE AT THE CENTRE
  21. DIP THE DONUT FIRST IN THE EGG & THEN BREAD CRUMBS
  22. SIMILARLY MAKE DONUTS WITH THE REMAINING PASTE
  23. FREEZE THEN FOR 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL SET
  24. HEAT SUFFICIENT OIL IN A FRYING PAN
  25. OIL SHOULD BE MEDIUM HOT. DROP IN THE DONUTS ONE BY ONE
  26. TURN THE SIDE AFTER FRYING FOR 3-4 MINUTES ON MEDIUM FLAME
  27. FRY ON BOTH SIDES TILL EVENLY BROWN
