Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. One cup urad daal
  2. Four cups idli rava
  3. Salt
  4. Tomato finely chopped 2 tbsp
  5. Black pepper powder 2 tsp
  6. Boondi 2 tbsp
  7. Oil
  8. Rai 1 tsp
  9. Jeera 1 tsp
  10. Tamarind pulp 2 tbsp
  11. Curry leaves 4-5
  12. Red chilli 5
  13. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  14. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  15. Minced garlic 1 tsp
  16. Pigeon eyes cooked daal 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Soak urad daal & rava in different vessels for 8 hrs Now grind daal , mix with idli rava ..Allow it to ferment for 8 hrs.. Mix well ..Add salt n make soft idlis by steaming idlis in idli stand.
  2. Heat a pan...Add two tsp oil,rai,jeera ,wait till they crackle...Now add tomatoes & cook till soft
  3. Add curry leaves,red chilli, turmeric,red chilli powder,black pepper powder,minced garlic..
  4. Finally add tamarind pulp,cooked daal , three cups water,salt & boil for 15- 20 min....
  5. Serve this hot with idlis topped with boondi...
