About Malai prawn biryani ( one pot ) Recipe

Prawn biryani was made with coconut milk. Creamy , richness and sweetness of coconut's infused in biryani, so the taste was delicious.

Malai prawn biryani ( one pot )

Ingredients to make Malai prawn biryani ( one pot )

  • Big size prawns 1 kg
  • coconut milk 2 1/2 cups ( 1 cup full cream)
  • water 1/2 cup
  • Basmati rice 2 cups
  • oil 3 tbsp
  • cinnamon 4-5 sticks
  • cardamom 10 nos
  • clove 7-8 nos
  • bay leaves 5-6 nos
  • red chilly 4-5 nos
  • Fried onion 1 cup
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • salt as per taste
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • red chilly powder 1/2 tbsp

How to make Malai prawn biryani ( one pot )

  1. Marinate the prawns with salt and turmeric powder and saute for 1 minute. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in cooker and all the whole spices.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and cook it for while and add water soaked rice.
  4. Fry the rice with adding salt, red chilly powder for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add coconut milk.
  6. Water also..
  7. Add fried onion and wait for one boil.
  8. Add prawns and cover the cooker lid. Cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
  9. Open the cooker lid after little cool down and add more fried onion. Juicy ,soft prawn biryani is ready to serve. Need not require any side dish.

My Tip:

Don't fry the prawns for long time. Otherwise prawns becomes chew.
